Plant Trust Collection FAQ’s

I reckon I might have a plant collection worthy of registering. How can I register it with Plant Trust?

Fantastic! We are most certainly keen to hear from you. Please email us at contact@planttrust.org.au to enquire about first steps.

I’m a keen gardener and would love to start a plant collection. Where would I begin?

We suggest starting by giving some consideration to what plant species or grouping most interests you, as well as the size of the species or grouping and also the amount of room you have in your garden, potted garden or balcony to grow and maintain a collection.

Take a look at our Plant Collections page and our Handbook (opens in a new tab) to see what collections are already being held (we welcome multiple collections of the same genera being held) and seek inspiration from What is a Plant Collection? on our About Us page to help you identify your prospective collection.

Do I have to be a Collection Holder to be a member of Plant Trust?

No, you do not have to hold a plant collection to belong to Plant Trust. Indeed, many of our members do not hold collections but are passionate about contributing to and supporting the conservation of Australia’s rich and diverse plant life. To join Plant Trust, please visit our Join Us page. Annual membership for an individual is just $30.
