Description
The Macedon Ranges Shire Council, Victoria, has a strong connection to the genus Quercus (Oak) through its Botanic Gardens and Street Tree Planting program. The Council’s three Botanic Gardens (in Gisborne, Kyneton and Malmsbury) include a collection of oak trees, and the Street Tree Planting Preferred Species List includes various Quercus species, notably Quercus palustris (Pin Oak), Quercus pyrenaica (Black Oak), and Quercus shumardii (Shumard Oak).
